Minutes
Executive Board Meeting
USMA ‘57
14 January 2010

The meeting commenced by teleconference at 2100 EST. Present were Galloway, Schwehm, Wells, Gadd and Stevens. Absent were Stephenson, Voorhees, McNeil, Kovel, Kehoe and Golden.

The purpose of the meeting was to discuss the Class of 1962's desire to nominate the Army 1953 football team to the USMA Athletic Hall of Fame. ‘62 wants the Classes of ‘54 through ‘57 (all those that witnessed the 1953 season and the resurgence of Army football) to join in the nomination. The Board expressed a need for the Class to be polled by Email on the issue. Galloway will do so, and presuming a favorable outcome, Stephenson will prepare a letter of nomination to accompany the package.

Additionally, Galloway noted that our 50 Year "Legacy" Class of 2007 has recently suffered two combat losses. He suggested the Board consider what we might do to recognize them. Options were discussed such as letters of condolence and/or contributions to the AOG, appropriate cadet activities, or something the families may have suggested in obituaries. Our administrative fund is a likely source for modest contributions. Stevens suggested we seek out a contact point within the Class of 2007 for liaison purposes. Galloway will look into the possibilities.

The meeting adjourned at 2116EST

Respectfully submitted.

Paul J. Schwehm
Secretary
